Business Law Review, Launched Five Years Ago, Increases Student Journal Opportunities
The American University Business Law Brief made the transition to a full Law Review in Fall 2011, becoming the first comprehensive business law journal in Washington, D.C. Since its original launch, more than 230 students have participated in the Business Law Review (BLR). "The Business Law Review has allowed so many of our students who are interested in business to get a much wider and deeper experience in the subject, " said Professor David Snyder, director of the Business Law Program. "Our curriculum is tremendous, but the journal experience gives the students exposure to cutting-edge issues of the greatest interest and importance to the practicing bar and to business clients.
Professor Popper Named Bronfman Scholar in Administrative Law 
Professor Andrew F. Popper has been named the Ann Loeb Bronfman Scholar in Administrative Law. "I am honored and humbled to be the first incumbent to the Bronfman chair," said Popper.  "This law school has a long tradition of excellence in the field of administrative law as it relates both to public service and to private practice. This chair provides a platform to help develop programs for all those interested in law and government, including our students, alumni, and the public."
Jane Sanchez '87 Named New Law Librarian of Congress 
AUWCL alumna Jane Sanchez '87 has been appointed as the 25th Law Librarian of Congress. She assumed the post on February 6 after serving as the Chief of the Humanities and Social Sciences Division within Library Services. Sanchez was previously with the Department of Justice Library, where she helped centralize their ten libraries and worked with foreign law specialists who assisted executive branch agencies with requests. She has said that her true interest has always been in the law. (Photo by Shawn Miller.)
Alumni Spotlight: Kaine Hampton '15, Entertainment Lawyer for Viacom
Kaine Hampton '15 is Counsel for Viacom, which includes popular brands such as MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, and Spike, in New York, NY. Hampton secures rights, conducts, risk analyses, and navigates legal issues presented by unscripted television productions and large scale live music events like MTV's Video Music Awards.
20th Annual Hispanic Law Conference to Be Held March 29
The 20th Annual Hispanic Law Conference will take place Wednesday, March 29. This year's theme, "Adelante" will celebrate the perseverance and progress of the Latino/a community. This regional conference brings together leaders devoted to the advancement of and justice for the Latino/a community in the U.S. and abroad.
