Environmental Law Society Expands Opportunities for AUWCL Students
The environmental program at AUWCL has developed into an array of course offerings, societies, and programmatic initiatives for those interested in this growing field. Of note is the Environmental Law Society, which has consistently allowed students greater exposure to this area of law.
Two AUWCL Students Selected as Immigrant Justice Corps Fellows
Two Washington College of Law students have been named to the 2017 class of Immigrant Justice Corps Fellows (IJC). Katherine Beck and Jazmin Chavez will help provide legal assistance for immigrants seeking citizenship and fighting deportation through partnerships with non-profits in New York.
Equal Justice Foundation Hosts Annual Auction Night to Benefit Public Interest
Last week, the Equal Justice Foundation hosted its annual auction night to help raise funds in support of students pursuing unpaid internships in the public interest sector. These scholarships enable AUWCL's students to gain valuable experience in public interest, while serving underrepresented members of the community.
National Jurist Names AUWCL a Top School for Human Rights Law
AUWCL is one of four schools featured in an article on the National Jurist about "Four Great Places to Study Human Rights Law." The article details how our Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law offers an innovative and diverse curriculum tailored to meet the needs of professionals specializing in human rights.
